The NCUA board will vote on the agency’s 2019-2020 budget at its Nov. 15 meeting, according to the agenda released last week. CUNA presented last month at NCUA’s budget briefing, and submitted written comments on the proposed budget this week.
The NCUA’s proposed 2019 operating budget is $304.4 million, a $1.7 million (0.6 percent) increase from the 2018 board-approved budget.
CUNA recognized and applauded NCUA’s improved budget process and most of the proposal but urged the agency to continue to focus on innovation and modernization, slowing the growth rate of expenditure and more materials reductions.
Other items on the agenda include:
- A proposed rule on fidelity bonds.
- A quarterly update on the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.
