New information reveals the massive Equifax data breach was even more damaging than previously revealed. In a document provided to the Senate Banking Committee, information emerged that in addition to Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, driver’s license numbers and credit card numbers, other private consumer data was also compromised.
“According to the document, provided to The Associated Press by Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s office, that included tax identification numbers, email addresses and phone numbers,” said an article on CNBC.com.
The breach affected 145.5 million consumers, and Equifax delayed reporting the incident. Read more here.
