There’s an old saying, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making plans.” For many residents of the Florida panhandle and surrounding areas, life will never be the same after a hurricane turned from a routine storm to a deadly catastrophe. The work has just began to help our credit union family rebuild.

While the devastation wrought by Hurricane Michael fades from the headlines, the trauma and loss are very real for people living in tents or without power. The situation is dire, and donations are badly needed. Both the LSCU’s Southeastern Credit Union Foundation and the National Credit Union Foundation’s CU Aid are working frantically to raise funds to assist those in need of immediate help.

The stories of loss and desperation are abundant with the damages of a Category 4 hurricane, and with the people-helping-people philosophy at work, we can make a difference.  If you are able, please consider making a donation of any size to provide support and please share this link on your social media pages so we can spread the word.
